As a Transport Operations Manager, you bring a quality-minded approach to delivering services and supporting teams to meet their goals. You'll work with drivers, suppliers and maintain clear pick/pack lists so decisions and actions stay on track. You'll manage stakeholders and outcomes, turning strategy into practical plans, governance and consistent delivery. Strong performance is shown through consistent delivery, accurate records and effective use of barcode scanners to track and communicate progress.

What you’ll do day to day

  • Communicate delays, issues and priorities clearly to supervisors and teams
  • Prepare shipping documentation and coordinate carriers and deliveries
  • Maintain a tidy, organised workspace to reduce risk and improve flow
  • Pick, pack and dispatch orders accurately, following procedures and timelines
  • Use barcode scanners and warehouse systems to track movements and status
  • Update inventory records and investigate discrepancies as required
  • Lead delivery through planning, resourcing and coaching, ensuring goals and service levels are met

Skills and tools to learn

Core skills: safety mindset, time management, team communication, accuracy, stakeholder management

Software/Platforms: WMS/TMS, Excel, barcode scanners

Methods/Knowledge: manual handling, pick/pack processes, governance and reporting
