IT Security Assistant
The IT Security Assistant supports consistent delivery by coordinating tasks, information and stakeholders across the workday. You'll partner with vendors, security stakeholders to keep work moving and ensure key runbooks are accurate and up to date. You'll focus on getting the fundamentals right, with guidance from experienced colleagues and clear checklists or templates. Success looks like timely follow-through, strong communication and confident use of tools such as Microsoft 365.
What you’ll do day to day
- Coordinate with vendors for troubleshooting and service requests as needed
- Assist with patching, updates and preventative maintenance to improve reliability
- Set up and maintain user access, devices and accounts in line with policies
- Maintain documentation, FAQs and knowledge base articles for common issues
- Support basic network and application troubleshooting for end users
- Follow established procedures and checklists, escalating issues early and learning from feedback
Skills and tools to learn
Core skills: documentation, prioritisation, security mindset, customer support, learning agility
Software/Platforms: Microsoft 365, ServiceNow/Jira, endpoint/security tools, Azure/AWS basics
Methods/Knowledge: access management, incident response runbooks, checklists and templates
