Help Desk Support Officer
As a Help Desk Support Officer, you bring a calm under pressure approach to delivering services and supporting teams to meet their goals. You'll partner with vendors, IT teams to keep work moving and ensure key tickets are accurate and up to date. You'll balance quality and pace, using judgement to triage requests and escalate risks at the right time. Strong performance is shown through consistent delivery, accurate records and effective use of Microsoft 365 to track and communicate progress.
What you’ll do day to day
- Respond to support requests, diagnosing issues and documenting outcomes in the ticketing system
- Support basic network and application troubleshooting for end users
- Monitor systems and alerts, escalating incidents according to runbooks
- Coordinate with vendors for troubleshooting and service requests as needed
- Assist with patching, updates and preventative maintenance to improve reliability
Skills and tools to learn
Core skills: customer support, security mindset, troubleshooting, documentation, prioritisation
Software/Platforms: Microsoft 365, endpoint/security tools, ServiceNow/Jira, Azure/AWS basics
Methods/Knowledge: incident response runbooks, access management, ITIL basics
