A Drug And Alcohol Support Worker is a detail-oriented professional who helps deliver reliable outcomes in day-to-day operations. You'll partner with care teams, patients to keep work moving and ensure key handover notes are accurate and up to date. You'll balance quality and pace, using judgement to triage requests and escalate risks at the right time. Strong performance is shown through consistent delivery, accurate records and effective use of Microsoft 365 to track and communicate progress.

What you’ll do day to day

  • Contribute to quality improvement and risk management activities
  • Complete documentation and handovers to ensure continuity of care
  • Deliver safe, person-centred care in line with clinical standards and scope of practice
  • Promote dignity, privacy and culturally safe practice in all interactions
  • Support medication safety and infection prevention practices where relevant
  • Conduct assessments and contribute to care plans, updating notes accurately

Skills and tools to learn

Core skills: teamwork, empathy, clinical communication, documentation, risk assessment

Software/Platforms: telehealth tools, clinical systems (varies by service), Microsoft 365

Methods/Knowledge: medication safety (as applicable), care planning, infection prevention
