Aboriginal Housing Worker
The Aboriginal Housing Worker supports consistent delivery by coordinating tasks, information and stakeholders across the workday. You'll work with families, government agencies and maintain clear progress reports so decisions and actions stay on track. You'll balance quality and pace, using judgement to triage requests and escalate risks at the right time. Success looks like timely follow-through, strong communication and confident use of tools such as secure record-keeping tools.
What you’ll do day to day
- Provide client support through intake, assessment and referral pathways
- Support community engagement activities, programs or events where required
- Develop and review plans with clients, focusing on practical, achievable outcomes
- Maintain accurate and confidential case notes and reporting documentation
- Contribute to compliance, quality standards and continuous improvement activities
Skills and tools to learn
Core skills: culturally safe practice, active listening, case coordination, documentation, boundaries
Software/Platforms: case management systems, Microsoft 365, secure record keeping
Methods/Knowledge: strengths-based practice, referral pathways, risk and safety planning
